Roberto Mancini, former Italian footballer, coach and technical commissioner of the Italy National Team, was born in Jesi on November 27, 1964. A precocious talent in his youth, at the age of 6 he shows an individual technique superior to his peers.

Considered one of the best attacking midfielders in the history of Italian football, he made his Serie A debut with Bologna at age seventeen. In the first season in Serie A he collects thirty appearances and nine goals.

The following year, he was bought by Sampdoria. With the Dorian shirt he spends 15 seasons collecting almost 500 appearances and scoring 132 goals. After fifteen years of success with Sampdoria, in 1997 Mancini moved to S.S. Lazio and thanks to his valuable contribution Lazio won their second championship in 2000.
He ended his playing career in 2001 with Leicester.

After retiring from football, he began his coaching career winning several trophies: four Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups, three Italian Championships, an English Championship, a FA Cup, a FA Community Shield and a Turkish Cup.

In 2015 he was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame, in the “Italian Coach” category.
